Forensic Capture of Digital Data
If electronic data is to be used in evidence then its capture in a forensic manner is crucial. Digital evidence is easily tainted and if not captured properly may be inadmissible in legal or other proceedings. Here at Eagle Forensics we believe that the capture of any data must be completed to a forensic standard. This ensures that any evidence found can be relied upon whether it is for use in a civil or criminal proceeding.
Evidence from many electronic sources – laptops, digital cameras, Blackberrys, mobile phones etc – can be captured and analysed. We then create ‘tamperproof’ digital images which are admissible as evidence in Court. However, the creation of these images must be completed according to strict guidelines to avoid problems with credibility or admissibility of the data they contain.
